Built From the Ground Up.
Literally.
Midwest Consulting wasn't born inside an agency, boardroom or marketing classroom. It grew out of years spent working, building businesses, solving problems and learning what actually moves a company forward.
Today, we use that experience to help other business owners build stronger brands, better systems and companies capable of lasting growth.
Mark Duncan — Founder, Midwest Consulting
Before Midwest Consulting, There Was a Pressure Washer.
Before becoming a business owner, Mark Duncan spent nearly seven years working at McDonald's.
It wasn't glamorous, but those years became part of the foundation for everything that came later: showing up, working quickly, maintaining standards, dealing with customers, operating inside systems and understanding that consistency matters.
In 2021, Mark took the first major step into entrepreneurship and founded a pressure-washing business.
There was no established agency behind it. No large marketing department. No team of consultants waiting with a playbook.
The business had to be built. Customers had to be found. Pricing had to be figured out. Equipment had to be purchased. Jobs had to be sold. Websites had to work. Advertising had to convert. Reviews had to be earned. Customers had to be followed up with. Problems had to be solved in real time. And the quality of the actual work still had to remain high.
That experience changed the way Mark looked at business. Marketing wasn't separate from operations. Branding wasn't separate from customer experience. Advertising wasn't useful if the website didn't convert. More leads weren't valuable if the follow-up process was broken. And growth didn't mean much if the quality of the service deteriorated along the way.
That realization eventually became the foundation of Midwest Consulting.
I Learned Business by Building Businesses.
I didn't start Midwest Consulting because I wanted to sell marketing services.
I started it because I kept seeing the same problems inside small businesses—good owners, good services and good products being held back by weak websites, inconsistent branding, poor follow-up, bad advertising, outdated systems or simply not knowing what to focus on next.
I had already lived through many of those problems myself.
Building my own companies forced me to learn how the pieces fit together: sales, advertising, customer service, pricing, websites, SEO, content, systems, equipment, employees, operations and reputation.
Eventually other business owners began asking for help. What started as sharing what I had learned became something much larger.
Midwest Consulting exists to bring that experience directly into other companies.
Business Taught Me to Look at the Whole Machine.
A bad website can make good advertising fail.
More leads won't solve bad follow-up.
Beautiful branding can't compensate for poor service.
Great work doesn't matter if nobody knows you exist.
Automation should remove friction—not create more of it.
Marketing should support the business, not become another job for the owner.
That is why Midwest Consulting works across the entire system.
Local Knowledge. High Standards. Real Execution.
01
Local Expertise
Midwest Consulting is based in Wisconsin and has worked hands-on with businesses throughout the Madison-area market and surrounding communities. We understand the realities of local service businesses: seasonality, reputation, referrals, Google visibility, local Facebook communities, customer expectations and the importance of being known for quality work.
02
Quality Before Volume
Midwest Consulting believes a strong brand has to be backed by strong execution. Whether we're building a website, producing a commercial, developing an advertising campaign or helping structure a service business, attention to detail matters. We would rather build something correctly than rush something mediocre into the market.
03
Hands-On Execution
Midwest Consulting is designed to work directly alongside business ownership. That may mean sitting down to restructure an offer, rebuilding a website, filming at a jobsite, editing a commercial, configuring a lead form, creating a flyer, improving Google visibility or helping determine what the company should prioritize next. We don't want to simply hand clients another list of things they need to do.
04
Constant Improvement
Markets change. Platforms change. Technology changes. Customer expectations change. And now AI is changing how businesses communicate and operate. Midwest Consulting continuously tests new tools, creative approaches, technology and systems so our clients aren't relying on strategies that worked five years ago.

The Work Didn't Stop When Consulting Started.
One of Midwest Consulting's greatest advantages is that its experience continues to come from operating in the real world. The company has worked across industries including automotive detailing, pressure washing, construction, childcare, vehicle customization, rentals and other locally owned service businesses. That means strategies are evaluated from an owner's perspective—not only a marketer's perspective.
Why This Matters to Me.
I still remember what it was like before any of this existed.
I worked at McDonald's for almost seven years before I ever owned a company.
When I started my first pressure-washing business in 2021, I didn't have everything figured out. I learned because I had to.
Every customer mattered. Every piece of equipment mattered. Every review mattered. A bad week mattered. Making the phone ring mattered. And delivering work I was proud to put my name behind mattered.
I haven't forgotten that as the businesses have grown.
When a local owner hires Midwest Consulting, I understand that the money they're investing isn't theoretical. It came from jobs completed, customers served, payroll made, equipment purchased and risks taken.
That's why I care about the quality of what we produce.
I want our websites to look different. I want our films to look better. I want our advertising to have a reason behind it. I want the technology we implement to actually make the business easier to operate. And I want clients to feel like they have someone working with them, not another company billing them from the sidelines.
That's what Midwest Consulting is supposed to be.

Founder, Midwest Consulting
We Want Our Work to Be Noticeable.
Midwest Consulting is intentionally moving toward fewer generic solutions and more custom work.
Quality is not a premium add-on. It is the expectation.
Every website should reflect the company it represents.
Every film should feel intentional.
Every campaign should have a strategy.
Every automation should solve a real problem.
Every recommendation should have a reason behind it.
Think Deeper. Build Better. Execute Well.
Why Midwest Consulting?
The Midwest name represents more than geography. It represents the kind of businesses we started around and continue to serve: owner-operated companies built through reputation, relationships, hard work and the quality of what they deliver. Wisconsin is home. But the systems, media, websites, technology and strategies Midwest Consulting builds can serve companies far beyond it.
Rooted Here. Built to Go Further.
Let's Build Something Worth Putting Your Name On.
Whether you're starting from nothing, rebuilding something that has stalled or trying to take an established company further, Midwest Consulting can help identify what comes next—and help execute it.
